Upright nickel slot machine--McDonald's Manufacturing Company "Manhattan" "#262" 1890's-early 1900's nickel slot machine has an oak case with filigree, crank handle, and spinning "Dewey" wheel. The piece was originally shipped in the late 1890's to a bar in Crested Butte, Colorado, owned by John Rozick, the stepfather of the current owner, Ed Rozman, who was born in 1922. The piece has been in the family's hands the entire time, and we have video of Ed Rozman explaining how the slot machine works. The slot machine measures 66 1/2" tall, 27" wide, and 12" deep, and has a few marks on it, but is in otherwise excellent condition. There is some patina on the wood, but it looks great. The machine has never been restored. The wheel spins, but the belt is made of leather and is original from the 1890's, so it slips a little and should be replaced. Believe it or not, the slot machine comes with its original shipping crate. The provenance of this antique is undisputable and it is an outstanding collectible piece from the mining era of the Colorado Rockies.
